Can my company force me to buy my own health insurance?
So my employer is attempting to force me to get an insurance health plan. It is not through anything they offer as a part of employment. The only thing they are offering to do is pay part of my bill every month if I bring them reciepts. If they pay part of my bill, even though it is not through the company health insurance plan is it legal for them to make it a requirement?

Aside from the Usual Health Care arguments, can you at least agree?
That all Americans should pay the same amount for health care assuming the same regions and same coverages. For example
Shouldn't we prevent Health Insurance companies from charging different rates to different people simply because they have a different job. If I live next door to Joe. Joe has the same Blue Cross health insurance plan that I have. Joe works for J&J and I work for Bob the Baker. Joe's plan costs 10k and mine costs 17k.
Isn't that the same as pulling into a gas station and have the attendant ask which company you work for before he sets the price on the pump?
No, This is the cost of the plans. Employer contribution is not even factored into my comments. I am a Payroll Consultant and get to work at 10+ different companies each year (for the past 25 years) and price differences in plans are the norm without factoring in employer contributions
And, I don't work for Bob the Baker. It was just intended to illustrate my point
Zarney. You've not even read my question, chose to ignore my comments or perhaps don't understand. I did say, same region, same health care provider, same plan, same coverage. Your comments are useless.
Jake b. That is what's happening, true. But why. We either need to get rid of employer sponsored health or completely level the playing field.
