What is the cheapest way to get temporary health insurance?
I'm leaving one company to start at a much smaller one that does not offer health insurance at first. What is the cheapest way I can get covered for less than 6 months with the least amount of hassle?
Living now in NY, NY; relocating to SF, CA. No chronic problems, just a prescription to fill every month and a fear of being hit by a car and having to pay outrageous bills...

How to handle natural disasters?
The National-Union feels that every State should have an emergency fund to create security. The State government should be responsible for preventing further tragedy because their government can easily alert citizens and provide for citizens much faster than the federal government. The emergency fund, which is about 10% of the States' revenue in reserve, will provide temporary health insurance and assistance to the local government for residents. In States' where there is less natural disasters, the fund can be used to aid farmers and small businesses after the State's deficit is significantly decreased.

What's with ex-wives who want to control their ex-husbands? Is this a common problem?
My husband recently got a better job. His child support order includes a requirement for him to provide health insurance for his daughter. When he switched jobs, he had to go on a temporary plan until the new insurance plan kicks in. His ex is pissed at him for getting a better job, based soley on the fact that she doesn't like the terms of this temporary health insurance plan! She knows this is just temporary. Why does she think she can tell him where to work? Is she a control freak? Or just chronically angry?
Okay, the logic here is that he got a better job that will allow him to provide a better life for his daughter. This happens to involve a switch to a TEMPORARY health insurance plan for a month or two. Then he will be back on a regular full coverage plan. Why would any sane person suggest that he sacrifice a better job for the long term, for the sake of full coverage insurance for the short term?
